The Dalton Police Department renewed its focus on code enforcement in 2013 with the assignment of Officer Chris Cochran to code enforcement duties. That turned out to be a great choice. Cochran was honored recently by Keep Georgia Beautiful, which has named him the states Code Enforcement Officer of the Year.
After taking over as the DPDs code enforcement officer in 2013, Cochran began work on creating the citys code enforcement plan. Cochran also began working to earn Level 1 certification from the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of those in charge of responsibility for environmental, housing and land use codes in the state.
