SOBRO HOTEL PROJECT REMAINS A QUESTION - NASHVILLE POST

The development team behind a two-hotel project in SoBro seemingly has been altered, with a groundbreaking date not yet announced.

Previously, White/Peterman Properties Inc. of Merrillville, Indiana, and Atlanta-based Five Star Realty Partners were to have partnered to develop the 1.3-acre site located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Demonbreun Street and Eighth Avenue South[1] with Hilton hotels Embassy Suites and Curio locations.

According to multiple sources who asked to go unnamed, White/Peterman is no longer directly involved in the effort. However, Metro records note the entity still owns the property, having paid $20 million for it in 2016.

It is unclear if White/Peterman Properties will enlist Five Star now known as High Street Real Estate Partners as a fee developer or sell to the Atlanta company. Repeated Post attempts to contact officials with the project the past 10 months have failed.

In January, the site was secured with barriers and fencing that has sported the brand of general contractor Yates Construction for the past few months.
