CHATTANOOGA CITY COUNCIL PASSES RESOLUTION REGARDING FALLEN FIVE MEMORIAL

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) Chattanooga City Council Members unanimously approved a resolution for a contract for the Fallen Five Memorial.

Its a memorial planned to be constructed at the Tennessee Riverpark to honor the five servicemen who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Chattanooga.

That was a terrible tragedy that happened, that brought a lot of us together in love, and hopefully this memorial will be a beacon of love in our amazing park, and we can come and just enjoy our kids, enjoy our families, and just remember that we are together. We are one, District 8 Council Member Anthony Byrd said.

The memorial is planned to be built with togetherness.

The contract is for $750,000, of that $250,000 will come from the city, and if approved by the Hamilton County Commission, $250,000 will come from the county, and the rest from private funds.

The RE: Site Studio design for the memorial was selected from other designs.

Construction on the project could start in the next few months.
