FAMILIES INVITED TO NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION AT CHATTANOOGA’S WEST VILLAGE

Chattanoogas West Village will host a family-friendly New Years Eve festival.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Dec. 31 in the West Village (Chestnut Street between Eighth and Ninth streets), families can enjoy a street festival with face painting, music and entertainment. Local food trucksincluding Chatter Box Caf, California Smothered Burritos and Dem Boyswill be on-site, and neighborhood businesses such as Peets Coffee, Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt, Innside Restaurant and the new Alimentari will be open late.

Guests can also enjoy a sneak peek of upcoming businesses such as Antibes, a clothing store, and Citron et Sel, a new taco and tequila bar.

As midnight approaches, a giant screen on the Westins mirrored surfaces will offer coverage of the Times Square celebration and ball drop. The screen will also show a special laser light show each hour leading up to midnight.

The not-so-late ball drop will be at 7:30 p.m. so young partygoers can enjoy the same excitement as the actual ball drop without having to stay up until midnight.
