The third annual Build Chattanooga Event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Center for Engineering Technology, Arts & Sciences building on the main campus of Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Hwy.

Sponsored by the Tennessee Building and Construction Institute at Chattanooga State, the event focuses on the construction industry, a high-demand field, that is expected to grow by 22 percent through 2022. Professionals in the construction industry can expect to earn salaries in the $37-96K range, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The community is invited to learn about careers in the construction industry and opportunities for training and education in Chattanooga.

Participants will experience the construction industry through hands-on demos and by meeting construction professionals. They will learn about the education and training pathways from instructors, and have lunch, courtesy of Stowers Machinery.
