NEW RED BANK YOGA STUDIO AIMS TO PROVIDE UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

When entrepreneur Sean Tyler says his new yoga studio is best understood when seen in person, he isn't stretching the truth.

From the outside, Red Bank's Cairn Yoga seems like a traditional studio. But inside the Dayton Boulevard building, there's a giant handmadedome[1]that he and his family created by sewing 350 yards of nylonpiece by piece, he said.

Inside the dome, the floor is made mainly of tiny pebbles40,000 pounds of them, he said.

There are larger, flat stones that lead to 20 raised oak platforms. Hundreds of plants line the outside of the dome. There's a water feature that creates babbling brook sounds.

The dome is equipped with lighting features that allow the instructor to change the atmosphere by using colors that glow against the white dome. One light setting makes it look like a planetarium; clients can lie on their backs after a yoga session and gaze up at what appear to be stars.

"Eventually, we'll be able to do shooting stars," he said.
