Whenever Helotes native Chris Ryan chats with people outside of South Texas about Bexar, the country duo he co-founded, he often has to explain how to pronounce the name.

To him, thats one of its selling points.

Its kind of cool, because when people mispronounce it, it sticks with em, Ryan said.

The name will soon be tripping, or stumbling, off the tongues of country music fans. Bexar Ryan and bandmate Logan Turner recently signed with Warner Music Nashville, which released the new single, Again.

Turner, a Kentucky native, was among those who needed a pronunciation tutorial.

I thought it was Beckser, he said. Which is still cooler than Warren, the county Im from.

The name is a nod to Ryans childhood, when he spent a fair amount of time sitting in a garage listening to all kinds of music.

Its where I got a lot of my musical roots, he said.
