BE PROACTIVE AND GET TESTED FOR PROSTATE CANCER

Prostate cancer is the leading form of cancer in men; one in seven Canadian men are effected by the disease. That is why its important for men to become proactive about their health and get tested.

When caught in the earlier stages, prostate cancer is easily treated. There are no signs or symptoms of it for early detection, the only way to know is to get tested. A simple PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test or a glove test can save a life from prostate cancer.

About half a teaspoon of blood is pulled out of the arm during a PSA blood test, this can be done by your local doctor or by the Man Van.

The Man Van program has been running for ten years out of the Prostate Cancer Centre in Calgary. This non-profit organization does not receive any government funding and relies wholly on donations and sponsorship.

The Man Van provides a fast and free baseline PSA blood test for men aged 40 to 80, there are no glove tests and no appointments needed. Men over 18 can also receive blood pressure, blood sugar, and waist circumference measurements.

Weve almost tested about 50,000 men since we have started, Ken Rabb, Man Van ...
